New appointment – a breath of fresh air

Leading the way to improved service, Ecoserv appointed senior air quality specialist, Grant Ravenscroft, in November of this year. Ecoserv is pleased to have such an experienced air quality specialist joining the company and has welcomed him to the team.

“We have always demonstrated commitment to air quality monitoring and management. We were the first company in South Africa to get ISO 17025 accreditation for air quality management, We aim to be the leader in terms of quality and confidence in our information. We want to attract and retain the best, which fits in perfectly with the business plan for our team and we are glad to have someone with Grant's expertise on board,” says Ecoserv MD Quentin Hurt .

Grant will be based in the Cape Town office, with the support of regional team leader, Mark Baird, where he will be responsible for leading the development of the company's continuous air monitoring service and quality management system. “ South Africa needs technical specialisation in air quality management and Grant is one of South Africa 's leaders. It is our intent, with his assistance, to include a top-notch calibration service,” says Baird.

Grant is excited, “I have spend a long time in a parastatal environment and am keen to tackle new opportunities. Already, it has been a busy two weeks and I am hoping it will continue, as I am hoping to grow the business quite a bit.”

He had previously been working in the City of Cape Town 's Air Quality Monitoring Laboratory and had been the manager of the division for the last 10 years. He intends to use his skills to expand air quality monitoring in the Cape Town office and to assist Ecoserv with quality assurance issues.

“Already the reaction of our staff members has been overwhelming. It was a great move and we are already feeling the benefits. Our Richards Bay office manager, Lindiwe Khumalo chirped that this makes us the Kaiser Chiefs of South Africa's air teams” Hurt added.
